Sometimes even the most outgoing people stumble when it comes to their personal lives, particularly when that means navigating the rocky shores of the dating scene.
Not to worry, Wingman can help.
No superhero, a wingman is part matchmaker, part makeover guru, whose goal is to sharpen his clients’ dating skills.
Wingman (the series) premieres tonight on Fine Living Network with comedian Michael Somerville as host.
This hip, fast-paced half-hour is a delightful change of pace from television’s usual makeover reality fare.
In tonight’s premiere, Somerville’s client is fellow TV personality Kela Walker. She interviews some of society’s biggest celebrities, but Walker’s a shy wallflower when it comes to dating.
Somerville and flirting expert Fran Greene give her – and, by extension, us – a few important tips. They then turn her loose with a couple of girlfriends in a fashionable New York nightspot. The cameras watch as she puts their dating tips to use.
Fluffy nonsense? Perhaps.
But Wingman is also a breezy, entertaining half-hour of television – something that often seems to be in short supply.
